Romanian state agency signs EUR 30 mln deals with 11 telecom operators

Romania’s Special Telecommunication Service (STS) signed agreements worth EUR 30.3 million with 11 telecom operators at the end of last year for connecting public institutions to the STS infrastructure.

The 11 operators include Orange, Vodafone, Telekom, RCS&RDS, UPC, 2K Telecom, Digital Cable Systems, Ines Group, Prime Telecom, Euroweb, and Ad Net Market Media, reports local Hotnews.ro.

STS will acquire from the telecom operators the data connections necessary for connecting the headquarters of the public institutions with the STS infrastructure, where the agency doesn’t have its own infrastructure. The agency will pay EUR 30.3 million to the operators in the next four years.

STS is an organization with a military status that coordinates special communications activities for state institutions such as the Presidency and the Government, among others.
